If it's not one thing.. it's another PT 2

Hehe.. just to add insult to injury a small problem with my settings in Flickr has changed EVERY link to EVERY picture.

I've tested the problem against a couple of shots and the existing image hyper link is invalid. However the links still work as they link to the page not the actual static image.

I'll re link the images when I get home.. assuming I still have wifi access !!

If it's not one thing.. it's another !!

They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I suppose the same can be said about the journey of a blogger. You tell yourself "I will post every day come hell or high water" and for a while you actually convince yourself that you can. But then life catches up with you.. it may be an overload at work, it may be illness, it may be technical problems with your computer or , in my case, it may be all of the above :)

It started when I had to endure an overnight bus journey from Scotland back to London. Obviously this knocked my internal body clock off kilter. I was too tired to do anything with the blog but assumed I'd catch up later. HAHA!!

Then I suffered an outage on my home network. That's not so serious.. I'm an IT Guy I could get it up and running again in 5 mins. 5 DAYS layer and I have just about got it back up. I say just about as my wife's laptop is working but I still have no internet access on my own PC. Of course my PC has all my images and image editing software on it.

Upshot is I've not uploaded pictures for well over a week and due to work commitments and general tiredness/laziness (delete as appropriate) I've not taken any pics for a number of days too.

So I guess the 365 project has died on it's backside !! However I'm still going to take photographs and blog them I will not be doing it under artificially imposed rules. I wanted the 365 project to inspire me, to make me look at things differently and instead it started to make photography into a chore. Something I had to do rather than wanted to do.

I enjoy photography and will continue to take photographs but not  forcing myself to take them because I have to.

I managed a month and for that month I enjoyed it.

There's still photographs I want to take and I will do... when I feel like it.

Rest assured that when I do take these shots I will post them here.

Bye for now.

Day 26 - Technology .. of a sort !

Day 26 - Technology .. of a sort !

As well as doing the photo a day nonsense I'm also partaking in one of my friends weekly challenges. This weeks challenge was TECHNOLOGY and we all laughed about the fact that we all planned to photograph the interiors of our home PC's

So I decided to take a shot of my retro tech. Still fully functional and very useful.

This is actually an old device once used by the GPO (before we had the Post office and Royal Mail) when I got it , it was in a right state and non functional but careful cleaning of the bakelite exterior, repainting of the lettering and rewiring of the electronics inside restored it to a "nearly new" status.

As it's so old it's relatively simple to fix unlike modern devices with specialised integrated circuits on chips that can't be bought or replaced. My theory is, the more complicated something is, the more there is to go wrong.

IMHO I'd rather use this old AVO meter than some of the horrid plastic digital devices on the market these days.

They just don't make 'em like they used to !

Day 25 - Camden tattoo studio frontage

Evil from the needle tattoo studio on Camden high street. Tattoo's are not really my thing but like the colourful frontage.

Camden high street is a photographer's dream with loads of really colourful shop fronts to take photographs of ... at least in theory it's usually very busy with tourists. Mind you that can be photogenic in its own way too.

Day 24 - Blue enamel trinket bowl.

Another still life..

A note to the confused..

"These are not the orcs you're looking for.." - Brynhildur Wan Kenobe

If you've come here from a World of Warcraft site I apologise ;) My Blogger account is linked to sites I've commented on previously and I noticed a few odd links in the log among all the photography forums, and photography blogs there were a few links from World of Warcraft blogs I frequent.

I do have more hobbies than WoW of course, this photography thing being one of them (and the main one at that!)

So if you came here expecting to find some insight into the shot rotation of a BM hunter I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you. But please, feel free to stay and look at the pretty pictures for a bit ;)
